Individualized Exercise Regimen

Whether you’ve undergone surgery, are recovering from or coping with an illness, or bouncing back from an injury, you want to reclaim your life as quickly as possible. At Wauconda Care, that is our goal, too.

Our skilled professionals with advanced clinical proficiency work individually with each patient and his or her prescribing physician to create customized care treatment. A full range of therapies, a spacious facility filled with state-of-the-art equipment and a supportive environment all contribute to helping you improve functional mobility, rebuild strength and get back to your daily activities as much as possible.

Before you begin one of our programs, you will undergo a physical exam and an exercise evaluation to assess your functional work capacity. We then create a treatment plan targeted to your needs, goals and capabilities. Your plan is carefully monitored by your treatment time, which includes the physiatrist and a physical therapist, and will be reevaluated on an ongoing basis. As you experience the satisfaction of enhancing your abilities, your exercise regimen will become progressively more challenging and rewarding.

Advanced Therapy Technologies

WaucondaCare_Physical_Therapy_Recovery_WeightsPhysical therapies at Wauconda Care are always advancing. We’re on top of the latest innovations to help shorten your healing time, increase your comfort level and improve your overall level of care.

For instance, Omni VR, the world’s first virtual rehabilitation system designed specifically for the needs of older patients, beckons you to enter a computer-generated therapy world that guides you through interactive rehabilitation exercises and activities to strengthen upper and lower body extremities. You’ll expand your physical capabilities and have fun at the same time.

Electrotherapy closely replicates your body’s normal muscle and nerve firings to increase circulation, relieve stiffness, and re-educate your muscles to work seamlessly again following a trauma, injury or surgery.

And electrical stimulation (e-stim) is a safe, painless and non-invasive restorative option for swallowing impairment, which is sometimes an issue after a hospital stay. It augments weakened muscle contractions to make it easier to receive the nutrition and hydration to help you heal.
